Work Experience
Basketball referee
During one year, I worked as a basketball referee for the Consell de l’Esport Escolar de Barcelona (CEEB). This experience allowed me to take part in the competitive and educational side of sport while developing key interpersonal and leadership skills.
As a referee, I was responsible for ensuring fair play, enforcing rules, and managing the rhythm of the game often under pressure and in front of large audiences. The role required quick decision-making, impartial judgment, and clear communication with players, coaches, and spectators.
Beyond the technical aspects, refereeing taught me the importance of empathy, mediation, and calm under stress. It strengthened my ability to lead with confidence and integrity values I continue to apply in every area of my academic and professional life.
Waiter at a restaurant
I worked for a year and a half as a waiter at Els Pollos de Llull, a well-known restaurant in Barcelona. This experience helped me develop strong customer service skills and taught me how to perform efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
My daily tasks included attending to customers, managing orders, and ensuring that every guest had a positive dining experience. Through this, I learned the importance of attention to detail, team coordination, and maintaining a positive attitude even during busy shifts.
Working in hospitality also enhanced my communication and sales abilities, as well as my understanding of how to create value through service something I now apply when thinking about marketing, branding, and customer experience.
